Dear Drs. Lanteri and Esposito,

As I awakened early this morning I reflected on three very important matters: my elations upon being informed by Dr. Ahmed that as a result of my prostate surgery I was cancer-free; that I was continent and able to control my bodily functions; and that I was so fortunate to be given a new lease on life, which is so fragile and so much in evidence as we Americans remember 9/11 on this particular day.

After discovering that my PSA count was rather high, immediate treatment was necessary. My daughter knows one of your former patients, Bruce Kern, who underwent successful prostate surgery with your team. After consulting with Dr. Lanteri, I knew he and Dr. Esposito were right for me. I felt instant confidence that your team, including “Mr. da Vinci,” was going to give me the most technologically precise results that I could ever hope for. Dr. Lanteri’s professional, methodical take-charge to my situation and the team’s lengthy experience with successful robotic prostate surgeries were decisive factors for my becoming a patient.

I followed Dr. Lanteri’s detailed instructions for pre-op medication and exercises religiously. I intended to make certain I would be ready for the ensuing operation. Thanks to my wife and family, all the paper work and pre-tests were meticulously completed.

After the surgery, Dr. Lanteri assured my wife all went well, and did indeed maneuver around one complication created by a previous surgery.

Post-operative care at Hackensack University Medical Center was exceptional. The nurses and assistants who cared for me were wonderful, especially those in the recovery room. They all made me feel “special” and, isn’t that what we all need in life?

As I finally recover and eventually return to a healthy, productive lifestyle, which includes teaching in Fair Lawn High School, I shall be eternally grateful for all you have done. You have re-energized my spirits, alleviated serious concerns from my family, fellow colleagues, students and friends.

As earlier stated, I thought of letting you know about my respect and admiration for your ability to be the best.

Respectfully,

Ronald N.
