ERECTION REHABILITATION

This part of post operative rehabilitation uses an oral medication (Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra) and the use of a Vacuum Erection Device (VED). This combination therapy will help rejuvenate your erectile tissue.

a) you will be given one of the following oral medication to be taken as directed:

a. Viagra 100 mg 4 times a week
b. Levitra 20 mg 4 times a week
c. Cialis 20 mg every other day
d. Or an intraurethral medication called Muse (Alprostadil)

b) You will also be instructed how to obtain a VED. Once you have it you will begin to use it 4 weeks after surgery twice a day. Once an erection is achieved hold it there for 20 seconds, release it and repeat 3 more times. You will and should feel tightness and pressure, but should never feel pain. If you do release the pump, review the instructions you got with the pump and try again. By doing this you are pulling healthy oxygenated blood into the erectile tissue of your penis, allowing it to stretch the tissues and keep them healthy.

  • Keep your pubic hair around the base of your penis trimmed to allow a good seal.

  • DO NOT RUSH THROUGH THIS PROCESS, TAKE YOUR TIME.
